The Ask
A high-profile stairwell between two floors in Absolute’s newly renovated Vancouver HQ needed purpose and identity. With the visual brand boldly expressed elsewhere, this space called for a different energy—something reflective, inspiring, and evolving.

The Strategy & Spark
Inspired by its liminal architecture—located between the twelfth and fourteenth floors—the space became the Thirteenth Floor Gallery. Its name played on superstition, while giving the hallway a new identity as a curated site for rotating exhibitions of local BC artists. A black cat logo became the visual anchor. The space responded with quiet contrast to its surroundings, designed to offer calm and creative spark in a busy workplace.

Curation & Expansion
Partnering with the Vancouver Art Gallery’s Art Rental and Sales program provided a rotating inventory of work by BC artists. Over time, the project expanded with The Cat Walk—art appearing in tucked-away corners and common areas, extending the gallery’s energy across the three-floor, 35,000 sq. office.
